2018 QSpot LGBT Center Community Awards 
QSpot LGBT Community Center in Ocean Grove, NJ announced the 2018 QSpot Community Awards will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018. The event begins at 6 pm inside the Riverview Waterfront Pavilion, Belmar, NJ.  QSpot Community Awards recognize extraordinary contributions to the LGBT community annually
Award recipients this year are being recognized for their dedication, passion, and commitment, some at great sacrifice, to LGBT rights, justice, and care. The Awards are presenteded during the QSpot Community Awards Jubilee Dinner event. All proceeds from the event support the QSpot LGBT Community Center’s mission. The Center works all-year-long to foster the health, well-being and pride of New Jersey’s LGBT community.

Recipients of the 2018 QSpot LGBT Center Community Awards (alphabetically):

Rev. Dr. Anthony Campolo – Is a Nationally recognized evangelical pastor, speaker, author, sociologist, social activist, and founder of Red Letter Christians. Tony came out in support of LGBT people only to be disavowed by many in the evangelical community. This included the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association locally.

Rev. Bruce Davidson – Is a Lutheran Pastor, retired New Jersey legislative liaison for the Lutheran Church, and former QSpot LGBT Center board chair. Bruce has been mentor, leader and supporter, along with husband Donald Barb, of some of New Jersey’s most influential advocacy and social service organizations. They include the ACLU NJ, Garden State Equality and QSpot.

Lisa Davis – Is a former QSpot LGBT Center board member, facilitator of Hot Topics for Women, curator of QSpot Movie Night, and co-founder and former board member of Women’s Weekend NJ. Lisa is a tireless LGBT advocate, educator, and dedicated volunteer at QSpot.

Derek Minno-Bloom – Currently is a Social and Food Justice Director at Trinity Episcopal Church, Asbury Park Education Justice Collective Member and Transformative Justice Project Director. Derek is a passionate social justice advocate, caring community leader, friend, partner and father.

Jan Moore – Works as a LGBT community advocate, Ocean Grove United member, educator, volunteer, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Jan’s life and relationship with Emily Sonnessa is featured in the award-winning film Love Wins.

Pamela Renee – Serves as Neptune City Councilwoman, Monmouth County LGBTQ Democratic Caucus member, and Trinity Church member. She is a dedicated QSpot LGBT Center supporter, volunteer and friend.

Eileen Shrem – Is a well-known women-in-business leader, long-standing QSpot LGBT Center supporter, mother and friend. Eileen’s limitless energy, humor and compassion inspire us all.

Emily Sonnessa – Is a LGBT community advocate, Ocean Grove United member, educator, volunteer, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Emily’s life and relationship with Jan Moore is featured in the award-winning film Love Wins.
