As I squeezed my way in to the Ritz Theatre in Oaklyn, I was greeted by what appeared to be the hazy lounge of a Greek revival hotel. The use of stage fog throughout the performance heightened the mood as well as highlighted the superb lighting design. A recording by Kevin Bacon, the star of the film version of Footloose, announced to show-goers that they could win personalized greetings for their phones as well as paraphernalia signed by the star. All proceeds of the raffle went to supporting the Ritz.
Director Jason J. Michael wowed the audience with his expert direction of a fantastically talented cast. The movement was tight and performed by talented dancers under choreographer Courtney Daniels’s direction.
