A corporate donation has been made on behalf of Arup, in Edison, N.J., to the Pride Center of New Jersey in Highland Park. Arup is an independent firm of designers, engineers, consultants and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.

After the tragedy in Orlando, the Arup firm’s LGBT employee resource group in The Americas—Connect Out—decided to organize a fundraiser to support the Orlando LGBT Center as well as LGBT centers around the region. Throughout July last year they raised money through payroll deductions and bake sales of homemade treats. With a generous matching donation from Arup, the group raised more than $16,000.

They divided all of the funds among the LGBT centers serving the areas of 12 of their offices, including Montreal, Toronto, New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, Washington DC, Edison, Boston, and Bogota, Colombia.

The Pride Center of New Jersey accepted the donation and efforts put forth by the professionals at Arup.
