On Monday, July 21st, at the Classic Car Club on Hudson Street, the new Yoko Devereaux collection for Spring/Summer 2009 was shown. The show began with a purple jersey sleeveless cardigan, a purple pinstripe woven shirt and khaki twill trousers that would set the tone for the rest of the show; preppy country. The collection alluded to summer days in the Hamptons with a 1950s air, and horse races, as twill trousers were followed by a white jersey ‘Trophy’ t-shirt styled with more twill. Aside from the ‘Trophy’ tee print, think Dirty Dancing, proper and preppy, always prepared for a game of Polo or highball glasses filled with mint juleps.
Models walked past classic cars in the Spring/Summer color palette of white, charcoal, black, lavender, blue, and hints of yellow.
