A local activist in Highland Park is helping to organize additional bus transportation to the Women’s March on Washington next month on January 17, 2017. Gary Parker says you may enjoy a charter bus directly from the location you work, study, pray or live by purchasing a bus ticket and leaving from three locations in Central New Jersey.
The Women’s March on Washington is a grass roots organization that hopes to bring awareness to several causes. The organizers say, “The past election cycle has insulted, demonized, and threatened many of us – immigrants of all statuses, Muslims and those of diverse religious faiths, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Native people, Black and Brown people, people with disabilities, survivors of sexual assault – and our communities are hurting and scared. We are confronted with the question of how to move forward in the face of national and international concern and fear.”
“The Women’s March on Washington strives to send a message to our new administration on their first day in office, and to the world that women’s rights are human rights. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.”
Parker says if you are not already on a charter bus on January 17 with another organization that you can still buy bus tickets on line at www.coachusa.com/suburban on a first come first served basis. Seats are very limited but there is an option to add more seats and buses as demand rises. He says you can print your own ticket online.
There is plenty of parking at each departure location says Parker and each ticket is just $55 each if purchased before January 6, 2017. Afterward prices will increase to $65 per ticket.
