Join the New Jersey LGBT community for Pride Nights at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ next month. The first event is on Friday night, March 23, 2018 after the Motown show. Join the LGBT community for a Cast Party with hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, and a chance to mingle with some of the cast members of the show.
Motown The Musical is the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, and many more. Motown shattered barriers. It shaped our lives, and made us all move to the same beat. It features classic songs such as “My Girl” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Experience the story behind the music in the record-breaking smash hit Motown The Musical!
The LGBT community is invited to mix and mingle at the State Theatre — one of the centerpieces and premier venues for the New Brunswick arts community. The evenings vary at LGBT Pride nights. Some evenings include a pre-show party with the purchase of a Pride Night ticket and other evenings include an after-show party. All tickets are with reservations made in advance. There are no tickets available at the door for the Pride event parties. During the pre — or post — party, enjoy the hors d’oeuvres and cash bar with some of the cast members. The media sponsor for State Theatre LGBT Pride nights is Out In Jersey magazine.
Organizers started LGBT Pride night to engage the gay community more inclusively almost two years ago. The Theatre met with many Central New Jersey LGBT community leaders and theatre goers to discuss ways to grow the LGBT subscriber base. After discussions, special evenings, called Pride night, as well as more outreach to local LGBT groups and business organizations was recommended.
