D.C. may join five states where Same-Sex Marriage is legal
The Washington D.C. City Council overwhelmingly approved legislation extending the freedom to marry to same-sex couples. Mayor Adrian Fenty, has pledged to sign the bill, and has ten days to act upon it. Once signed, Congress will have thirty legislative days to review it and decide whether to intervene.
