Walking into this quant South Jersey theatre situated on the corner of a bustling street, one is unaware of the treasures one will find within the walls. After finding a seat in this historical theater one is invited into the world of Fred and Lilli Vanessi played by Nat Chandler and Kimberly Curless. Chandler and Curless, as well as their numerous and exuberant cast mates, play a truly unforgettable performance of The Ritz Theatre Company’s annual pre-holiday musical, Kiss me, Kate.
Cole Porter’s Kiss Me, Kate is a musical about love, loss and betrayal using Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew as a backdrop. It is a play within a play and the characters are as intricate as the stage direction. To keep it all running smoothly there is a large cast of supporting characters including Erienne Poole (Hattie) and Stephen S. Raytek (Pops) in their Ritz Theatre debut.
