Crisis Hotline Uses Celebs to Bring Attention to Bullying
The Trevor Project runs the first and only nationwide suicide hotline for LGBT youth. Its caring, trained volunteers provide 24-hour assistance that is both anonymous and confidential. Not only a phone hotline, the non-profit provides support through educational workshops, research and by influencing legislation. The group is named for the Academy Award®-winning Trevor, a short film looking at suicide through the eyes of a gay teen.
