IN THE SCHOOLS:
Under the direction of teacher Melissa Wyatt and with a student-written script, students from Trenton Central High School, together with students from Newark, are planning to offer public performances educating young adults on how to protect themselves against the spread of HIV/AIDS. In addition to this community outreach, they are raising funds to cover costs for a trip to
South Africa.
TCHS alumnus Jimmie Earl Perry ‘68 has extended an invitation to students to perform there at the Africa Center for HIV/AIDS Management. They will also have to opportunity to learn about prevention programs offered by the Center and visit orphanages and others living with HIV.
The production consists of a series of situational vignettes in which young people confront the possibility and consequences of HIV/AIDS in their own lives and the lives of people they care about.
