Voted one of the top diners on the Food Network, and one of the nation’s most prominent diners, it is a busy place serving fine food in a variety of cuisines. Looking at the homepage you’ll find pages of menus. “Starters,” “Breakfast,” “House Favorites,” “Desserts,” and more await your browsing.

Scanning the Dinner Specials menu, you will find many of your favorites. Pasta and Clams with Linguini is described as one pound of Littleneck Clams steamed in a savory liquid with garlic, lemon zest, parsley, and extra virgin olive oil. At $16.99, it is a true value. One of the customer favorites is Beer Battered Flounder. Served with hand-cut fries, it includes their chef’s own tartar sauce and house coleslaw for $18.99.

In addition to the usual savory specials, you will also find an exotic dish such as the Lomo Saltado. Described as a classic Peruvian stir-fry with strips of tender skirt steak served with fresh ginger, parsley, onions, and tomatoes tossed in a piquant sauce and served over rice. At $20.99, it is a winner. The one pound Chimichurri Skirt Steak is a marinated grilled skirt steak, served with an Argentinian-style steak sauce, rice, black beans and maduros for $26.99.

There are literally hundreds of selections from which to choose. You may need a few minutes to decide, so be prepared. No matter whom you may bring to Tops Diner, they will find many exciting options. Tops will please even the most finicky eater.

Did you say cocktails? They abound upon a menu page all its own. Under Pitchers and Punches (serving 4-6, with individual glasses also available), you will find French Jamaican Punch, Sangrias in red, peach, and strawberry, and most interestingly, The Filthy Wicked Flower. Individual cocktails include many favorites such as The Perfect Mojito ($11), The Alderman ($13), and Negroni ($12), among many others. One drink which elicits special interest is The Reverse Sidecar at $12.. It is a magical potion with Ketel One vodka, Duesse cognac, egg whites, fresh grapefruit and simple syrup with freshly squeezed lime juice. Wines by the glass, and many beers, are also available.
