It seems every mail delivery brings two or three pleading letters from people who are trying to save whales or cure cancer or protect our civil liberties. A few are scams, but most are very worthy. Sadly, the constant deluge has the effect of inuring us to appeal in general. We simply cannot contribute time and money to them all.
Most of us pick the two or three that strike a special note somehow and ignore the rest. We Jersey queers have a special responsibility however.
