The Palisades Interstate Park Police Department is out of control

An ordinary policeman can impose his will on any of us at any time. We had certainly better do what he says and without making a fuss about it. This power places upon the police a great and serious obligation to act in a fair and just manner at all times. Ignorance, stupidity and prejudice are not permitted. Using the power for venal purposes is especially unacceptable, as is the targeting of minorities.

The Palisades Interstate Park Police Department is out of control. This department’s history clearly shows a record of systematic entrapment and bogus harassment of citizens, quite possibly for no better purpose than increasing the overtime pay of officers necessitated by frequent court appearances. This publication along with the ACLU, Garden State Equality and many other organizations has been reporting on the entrapment of gay men in Palisades Interstate Park for several years.
