Soulforce takes it to the streets for justice

LGBT Activism

LGBT activists are encouraging supporters of LGBT equality to demand their rights through civil disobedience and grassroots resistance. San Francisco-based organizer Kip Williams, and Cleve Jones, founder of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, issued a call for its members to “take it to the streets.”

Christopher Hubble, of the Colorado chapter of Soulforce explains that although the catalyst for this project is the looming Supreme Court decision regarding Proposition 8 in California, the movement that this call hopes to inspire does not focus exclusively on “that issue alone at the exclusion of all others.”
