Queering the Air seeks fairness and justice, not vengeance, in Clementi suicide case

Most would agree that the two students who allegedly exposed Tyler Clementi’s private life online were acting despicably and that it was a severe invasion of privacy with tragic results, but Queering the Air, a queer-centric social justice organization based in New Brunswick, is urging the community to bring fairness, justice, and due process to the case.

“The overwhelming response has been a disproportionate and discriminatory call for the criminal justice system to act swiftly and harshly. Such public outrage often fuels vengeance and inequality rather than just actions,” according to the organization’s Web site, www.queeringtheair.org.
