Prop 8 protest is huge in LA

LGBT Community reaction

Petunia and I thought we would be smart and take the subway to Los Angeles City Hall. When we got to the subway terminal at Sunset & Vermont, the line to buy tickets was all the way back to the wall.  It looked like people were trying to get into a Circuit Party in Palm Springs and thought this was the White Party ticket booth.

When the train pulled up it was so packed with people bearing signs and flags that we could barely stuff ourselves in between two big lesbians who I got to know on a very personal basis between Sunset and City Hall. It was like a gay pride parade by rail.  But fun … a lot like the March on Washington 1993 when we turned the DC metro into the Gay Subway.
