Up until now, the last time Out In Jersey covered a major concert was Saturday, March 7th, 2020, when Céline Dion performed at Newark’s Prudential Center. A week later, a worldwide shut down in lieu of the Covid-19 Pandemic took place, severely crippling every industry, especially the live music industry. For the next year and a half, tours were routinely rescheduled and pushed further and further back. Finally, during the second half of Summer 2021 live music reemerged like a crescendo, seeing high energy Pitbull with special guest Iggy Azalea joining forces on the I Feel Good tour.

The dynamic duo is currently touring the country, having recently performed at Holmdel’s PNC Bank Arts Center, with upcoming shows in Bethlehem and Atlantic City slated for later this month. Iggy Azalea’s opening act lasts for approximately fifty minutes and consists of a 14-track setlist. Iggy’s vocals are on point, radiating old-school R&B vibes, and her choreography is solid. Standouts include “Team” and “Black Widow,” which are performed within the first 15 minutes, so make sure to arrive on time, if not early. “Kream,” Pretty Girls,” and an epic finale with “Fancy,” one of the biggest songs of the last decade, highlight the second half of the setlist. All in all, Iggy Azalea is the perfect opening act to get the party started in anticipation of Mr. 305.

Pitbull kicks off the show with smoke, fireworks, an army of dancers, and backup musicians as he performs “Don’t Stop the Party,” which kicks off a two-hour party of non-stop dance anthems. Having covered Pitbull’s tours in the best, the I Feel Good Tour features his best setlist yet, with “Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor),” “Hotel Room Service,” “International Love,” and “Rain Over Me” all being performed within his first half hour.

Pitbull is known for collaborating with the biggest names in the industry. Despite their absence, Pitbull does an excellent job performing his biggest collabs solo, including “On the Floor,” “I like It,” and “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love.” The second half of the show is centered around his earlier, more classic hits, including “The Anthem,” “Shake,” “Culo,” and “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho).”

The I Feel Good Tour is emphasized by stellar vocals, stimulating visuals, continuous effects, and a strong group of dancers and backup musicians alike. Pitbull’s setlist alone features 25 tracks. Moreover, just when you think the show is over, Pitbull proceeds with a surprise encore climaxing with “Time of Our Lives” and “Give Me Everything.” If you are looking for a good time, this is the show attend. With Pitbull, you can tell this is more than just a glamorous occupation for him; music is his passion. Hence the entire concert is one big celebration. The best part? There was no agenda: no talks of feuds, no talk of politics, no talk of any of the various degrees of negative news which is all but inescapable within our world today. The I Feel Good Tour is the sweet escape we all need.
