Perversion of Power looks at both the scandals and the cover-ups in the Catholic Church. The seemingly unending tidal waves of sexual abuse scandals that have overwhelmed the Church are of more than passing interest to gays, Catholic or not. Repeatedly, most recently by a Vatican spokesman, gays who have “wormed their way ” into the priesthood have been blamed exclusively for the scndals. In a larger sense the general culture’s evolution in the direction of toleration for LGBT persons has also been blamed.
