Judy Garland impersonators have become as cliche in the gay community as showtunes, small yappy dogs and, well, Liza Minnelli. However, impersonator Joey Josephs recently set out to breathe new life into the most common staple of gay entertainment. “Anyone who puts a dress on nowadays can perform and it’s very frustrating,” Josephs said. “I used to do Garland impressions at parties and for friends. Recently, I took vocal lessons and was able to mimic Garland’s voice.”
