Interpride Conference Announces $15,000 Donation
Anthony Bullett, President of Capital Rainbowfest, Inc. (CRI) in Trenton was one of over 150 delegates to the annual conference of the International Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Intersex Pride Coordinators (Interpride) held in Vancouver, Canada in late October. Pride festival organizers from from throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Australia and Africa were represented.
The conference included an appearance by Gilbert Baker, the creator of the Rainbow Flag, who has partnered with Absolut to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Rainbow Flag. Absolut made a donation of $15,000 to Interpride for use over the next three years for conference scholarships. Bullett received a scholarship this year that funded most of the costs associated with his attendance. Other presentations were made to the delegates by Martina Navratilova’s Rainbow Card and by the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Committee.
