The New Jersey Pride Chamber of Commerce (NJPCC), formerly the NJ LGBT Chamber of Commerce, announced the election of Tom Legan, a resident of Clinton Township in Hunterdon County, to its board of directors. He is the President and Chief Marketing Officer of Brucecy Marketing Group, an experiential marketing and promotions agency based in Scotch Plains. Brucecy Marketing Group helps global brands, TV networks, streaming services, movie studios and non-profits directly reach diverse audiences through brand activations at large consumer events such as gay prides and runs.

In his new role as a NJPCC board director, Legan will oversee a statewide strategy that will attract new Corporate sponsors and brand partners to the Chamber and its hosted events said the release. See the Chamber’s newly structured sponsorship rates here.

The Chambers first major event open to the public will be a Pride Run on Saturday, April 23rd on the Atlantic City boardwalk. The 5k and 10k walk/run will be the first of its size to attract the LGBTQ community and their allies in Southern New Jersey. Race participants can buy tickets at PrideRunSeries.com

“Tom has restructured our entire sponsorship program'” said Stephen Blazejewski, President of NJPCC. “We are already getting serious inquiries from major partners who want to reach the fastest growing demographic of professionals in New Jersey—the LGBTQ+ demographic. Businesses will have an amazing opportunity to showcase their services and products to a diverse audience. We welcome corporate partners who are ready to make positive changes that will benefit our community.”

Legan brings award-winning experience in partnerships, promotions and marketing for groundbreaking original TV series, film releases, and brand awareness. He has worked in Manhattan at Showtime and AMC networks to drive viewership to some of the highest rated series in television history, including Queer As Folk on Showtime and The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men on AMC.

“The recent rebranding of the Chamber has been very well-received and I’m eager to get the word out to potential partners that we’re bigger and better than ever,” said Legan.

Legan’s Brucecy Marketing Group has included global brand clients such as Amazon Prime Video (Transparent series), Participant Media, SKYY Vodka, 2(X)IST Underwear, Roadside Attractions Studios (Judy film release 2019), Freeform Network (The Fosters) and more. The agency is eager to get back to managing client activations at in-person pride festivals this year after two years where most prides were canceled due to the pandemic.

Legan, a Short Hills, NJ native, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wake Forest University in NC. He is an avid volunteer for non-profit organizations like Jersey Cares, as a team leader and site captain for community service projects around NJ and has managed many Walk To End Alzheimer’s fundraising events throughout NJ for the Alzheimer’s Association.
