RuPaul’s DragCon NYC was held two weekends ago in New York City. The Javits Center was packed with more stunning queens, adoring fans, and absolute fierceness than the massive and legendary event space has probably ever seen at one time! The three-day convention is the world’s largest event celebrating drag culture, and in 2018, the convention welcomed nearly 100,000 attendees on both coasts.

in New York City this year, you actually had a chance to get to meet tons of your favorite queens up close and personal. Everyone from Season One favorites Ongina and Tammie Brown, to Season Three dolls Manila Luzon and Mariah, to Season 11’s Scarlet Envy and Nina West all meeting fans, taking pictures, and sharing plenty of hugs.

If you were looking to check out some of the panels available, you could have checked out Comedy Queens (with Nina West, Pandora Boxx, Meatball, Sam Harrison & Hedda Lettuce) or Judgey Judies, where Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Matthews gave us the lowdown on what it’s like to sit on the famed Drag Race judging panel.

Queens from Honey Davenport to Trixie Mattel performed on the main stage throughout the weekend. RuPaul himself sat down for personal chats. One was with Whoopi Goldberg, and another was with Diane Von Furstenberg. As an added treat, RuPaul himself took a spot behind the decks on the main stage, and served up DJ sets on both Saturday and Sunday.
