Kim Friedman & Brittany LynnIf you take a heart helping of “Jersey Shore”, mix in a handful of “The Real Housewives” franchise, and sprinkle in a dash of “The Real World”, you probably will have the potential new reality show from Under The Boardwalk productions. he show will focus on a group of LGBT people living in a beach house in Atlantic City for a summer. Here, series co-creator Kate Siegel, a straight 22 year old Princeton student, speaks to me about her recent New Jersey casting, and how she is definitely not looking for the new “Snookie”!

What made you pick Atlantic City as your “locale” for the reality show?
We definitely wanted New Jersey, there are so many attractions in Atlantic City, and it seemed like a great place for a beach house! My mom (Kim Friedman, the show’s co-producer) was born in Atlantic City and I have a place in Ventnor, so it was a natural fit.

I wanted to do an LGBT show, with all LGBT characters in the house; not just the token character, as on the “Real World”. People are not identified by their sexuality; I wanted a house where there sexuality is not the main characteristic.

What will the actual premise be? More “Jersey Shore” than “The A-List”?
It’s not 100% clear right now; like all reality show television, its connected to what walks in the door.

What kind of people are you looking to cast?
Just intersting people really. We can’t expect a certain type of people; of course, we’ve gotten some saying their the “next Snookie”, but we are really just looking for people that are interesting and exciting!

Many would think Asbury Park would be the definitive destination for a reality show based on the “gay summer scene”. Any thoughts of doing one there?
That is definitely in the realm of possibility; the point is to not do a casting right in a primarily “gay” area, but you never know!

You recently had you first casting at Club In & Out, which drew hundreds of potential cast members. Any particular try-outs stand out?
I can’t say just yet. But I’ll tell you this, there were definite standouts

Where else can we expect to see casting calls?
We did one at Woody’s on February 25th, which was another huge success! We’re working on a casting in Asbury Park too, so fingers crossed!
