Fashion week 2011They say you always save the best for last, and that is exactly that New York Fashion Week did this year! On Thursday, February 17th, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week unveiled the upcoming Fur Line, due to hit the market this Fall, by celebrity stylist, LGBT advocate and entrepreneur, Alisa Maria. The New Jersey-native philanthropist allowed a room of over 350 VIP celebrity guests and media representatives to view the eye-popping and innovative designs at first-class venue, “The Empire Room,” located conveniently within the Empire State Building.

New Jersey fashionistas, Kim DePaola and Alina Leshiner of POSCHE Boutique, modeled the furs along with Chris DePaola, VH1’s Kerry Schwartz, “Jerseylicious” star Tracy DiMarco, and the beautiful Melissa Gorga. The fashion show would not have been the same without the MC of evening, Matt Martin! The drink of the night was an “Alisa-Maria-Tini,” a martini that tasted rich and was definitely made to the nines! The venue also served up some amazing popcorn; a trademark of theirs.

The after party commenced at approximately 9pm, and that is when the room began to heat up. Robyn Polay of Illumination PR definitely knows how to throw a party! The lights dimmed, disco-esque strobe lights began to roll across the room, and the DJ spun hit after hit. Kim D helped everyone loosen up by pulling myself, along with the Gorga sisters, off of our seats and a top the catwalk to dance the night away.

When I took a break from photographing the show and it’s guests, Diana Bradway of “Housewife Style” took over my camera and got some terrific action shots! For the rest of the evening the party went on and on – on and off the runway. Overall, an excellent end to New York Fashion Week.
