BOOK REVIEW – Ties That Bind, by Sarah Schulman

Sarah Schulman is definitely an angry person. Ties That Bind begins as an examination of families rendered dysfunctional by homophobia and explores the range from passive-aggressive to frontal assault, pointing out that not only are these disastrous family issues wrenching and destructive in themselves, but they often create the subconscious pattern by which we in turn treat each other.
