There is no doubt that Mrs. Doubtfire – the Musical will make you laugh but it will also give you the “feels.” The storyline of the hit musical is familiar if you’ve seen the 1993 movie starring the late, great, Robin Williams.

Based on the 1987 novel, Madam Doubtfire, by English author Anne Fine, the story shows us just how far a father is willing to go to interact with his children after a divorce. The unemployed actor transforms himself into an elderly Scottish housekeeper, namely Mrs. Doubtfire, and hilarity ensues.

In the live show when the title character, played by two-time Tony nominee Rob McClure, tries to keep these two personae separate it is comic genius. Rob’s co-star and real-life wife, Maggie Lakis, leads this cast of characters. Full of catchy tunes, fast-paced ensemble dance styles, and heart-felt lessons, Mrs. Doubtfire is sure to leave you wanting more.

And speaking of more, we have an interview with actor, dancer, and choreographer, Alex Ringler, one of the stars of the show, coming soon in the April/May 2024 print issue of Out In Jersey magazine. Be sure to check it out.

Mrs. Doubtfire – the Musical is at the Philadelphia Academy of Music from Feb. 6-18, 2024. Get your tickets now!
