Art Gallery looking for visual artists who identify as trans/gender and non-binary
The Locals Art Space at 408 Main St. in Asbury Park has put out a call to photographers, sculptors, and spoken word, performance and visual artists who identify as Trans/Gender and Non-Binary. The opening reception will be on Feb. 8, 2020 and will run through the month.
The gallery is a membership-run art space that supports all people, regardless of race, religion, or personal identity. The gallery said it “believes in making way for those who may not have a space to express their voice through the arts and music.”
The gallery will accept artists at all levels 16 years old and up. All artists are asked to submit their very best work and follow the application guidelines. The Locals Art Space will open to those artists who apply. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 28, 2020, and all art must be received by Feb. 1. Art pickup will be on Leap Day, Feb. 29, 2020.
During the opening reception, those artists who offer spoken word, music and performance will have a segment of time to perform. There will be refreshments and the show is open to the public.
Artists can request an application by emailing localsartspace@Mail.com or they can find an application link on the LocalsArtspace on Facebook or in the gallery.
