COLLEGE ACTIVISM
The LGBT community and many straight allies gathered at Drew University on April 4th in a rally for equal marriage rights for same-sex couples.
The rally was organized by the gay-straight alliance at Drew University and Montclair State University. Invited speakers from the Gay Activist Alliance in Morris County, Garden State Equality and Parents, Families, & Friends of Lesbians and Gays, among many others, said that New Jersey civil unions for LGBT couples don’t provide the same rights as marriage would.
