James Beard Foundation celebrates gay pride in high style

Food is a celebration

The non-for-profit James Beard Foundation hosted “The Gay Soirée” at the famous house of James Beard on June 27th in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. In late June, the organization opened the first two levels of the four level house for a walk-around food tasting and cocktail party.

The James Beard house can only be described as elegant and charming. Beautifully tiled and carpeted floors, a vast collection of books, and a charming paintings of James Beard himself decorate the house. The third and fourth floors are offices and a board room which can be rented to the public for events.
