Jennifer Detlefsen, the daughter of Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, called out President Donald Trump on her Instagram account in regards to his signing of a ban that would prohibit transgender people from military service. Detlefsen and her father are U.S. Navy veterans, with Zinke having served as a Navy SEAL.

Detlefsen, a glass artist in Virginia, posted Trump’s tweets about his military ban on her Instagram account with the following statement: “This man is a disgrace. I’ve tried to keep politics out of my social media feed as much as possible, but this is inexcusable. This veteran says sit down and shut the fuck up, you know-nothing, never-served piece of shit. #itmfa #wtf”  The former hashtag, popularized across social media platforms, refers to Trump and stands for “Impeach the mother fucker already.”

The original post appeared in late July in response to the President’s tweets and didn’t go viral until he signed the order last week. Detlefsen has declined to be interviewed, issuing a statement to CNN instead” “My views are my own and not at all related to my father’s position; millions of other people have said the same as I did, and more eloquently. The thousands of transgender military service members who are under attack by this administration are the ones who should be given a chance to have their voices heard.”

The office of the interior secretary has had no comment.
