On Monday, October 25th, 2010, dozens of members of the press gathered in the Statehouse in the heart of Trenton as Senate Majority Leader Barbara Buono and Assemblywoman Valerie Vaineri Huttle teamed with Garden State Equality’s Chairman, Steven Goldstein, to unveil the newly proposed Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights. The Bill is a response to not only the Tyler Clementi suicide incident that occurred on the Rutgers University campus in late September, but to the bullying that has evolved into a malicious, never-ending pursuit with modern day’s technology — from the locker rooms to Facebook and has resulted in the suicide of many other LGBT young people.
