Out gay soldier Bradley Manning, now in military custody, awaits a court-martial on charges of being the source of the Wikileaks exposure of thousands of secret U.S. government memos regarding the war in Afghanistan. He is described by friends as a quiet “computer nerd” but with a hotheaded streak. Scott Lewis, a former classmate, was quoted in the British newspaper The Telegraph as saying, “If there was something he didn’t agree with, he spoke up about it.”
