In her opening night remarks, Director Bonnie J. Monte declared that she had been waiting thirty years to direct Shakespeare’s classic tragedy. It was certainly worth the wait. The tale of the titular Danish prince is brought to stunning life here by the gifted actors of the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey.

The incredibly talented Gareth Saxe nails Hamlet’s sardonic wit and expertly dances the line between the prince’s approaching madness and lust for revenge. He has a formidable opponent in his murderous uncle Claudius, played with great passion by Robert Cuccioli.
