Celeste Fiore has joined Garden State Equality as Development Manager. Fiore has been a volunteer and supporter of GSE for a long time. Today’s email from GSE stressed her knowledge of the organization, LGBTQ needs in New Jersey, and her passion.
Sometime after the first of the year GSE will be selecting a new Executive Director. The organization has been operating without an executive director for several months now.
Fiore is an attorney with the The Fiore Law Firm, LLC based in Montclair, New Jersey. Along with being a small business owner and a lawyer, Celeste has been an activist for LGBT rights since her college days at American University in Washington, DC. She performed a year of community service with City Year-Greater Philadelphia where she founded a student-led citywide high school literary magazine.
She has also done advocacy while at Rutgers School of Law (Camden) through her leadership of the LGBT student group. She currently serves as the Secretary of the LGBT Rights Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and she sometimes presents programming on LGBT cultural competency for various organizations.
Fiore says she is looking forward to working with new and existing partners of GSE to promote “lived equality” for all New Jerseyans.
