Out Pets

Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue ensures puppies are adopted into homes that love their animals as much as they do. Upon rescue, each puppy is treated with the same veterinary care as volunteers would hold for their own pets. They believe that acquiring knowledge of their rescues and their needs increases compatibility for each new family. Their dedication to animal care is a passion.

Each rescue is sent to a loving foster home. The puppies come to visit the non-profit’s home base at Freehold Raceway Mall. When the puppies come to visit, so does the public, and it is the hope that upon meeting one another, homes are found, and friends are made.

The facility is 100 percent volunteer based. “You are safe. You all will not be hurt again. You will find your home, I promise,” said volunteer Sue Orchanian. The volunteers rave about the work they do says Orchanian. She has seen the bountiful beauty of rescuing puppies. “They are so loved, and we have space for everyone.”

The Pick Your Paw team wants to introduce you to two of their puppy rescues, Millie and Bella.

Millie is a three-month-old female Coconut Retriever who came from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. You may be asking yourself, “a Coconut Retriever—what breed is that?” A Coconut Retriever is the affectionate name given to the local island mutts. Millie had an exciting flight to the mainland from St. Thomas when a family on vacation offered to take her on the plane with them and transport her. S

Bella the dog
Bella is a 40-pound mixed breed girl that whose owner could no longer keep her

he stayed with the family as their carry-on under their seat for the entire flight. She will grow up to be a medium sized dog, is dog and kid friendly, and is excited to find her forever home.

Bella is a 40-pound mixed breed girl that whose owner could no longer keep her. She is seven years old and is a very sweet and quiet girl. Bella loves to play with a tennis ball between her naps. She is house trained and walks very nicely on a leash. Bella is looking for an adult-only home that is quiet and where she will be the only pet. Are you able to open your heart to Bella where she can relax and enjoy the comforts of a real home?
