Art House Productions (Executive Artistic Director Meredith Burns) announced 10 signature events in the month of August in celebration of Jersey City Pride Month. Each event will be sponsored and held at Art House Productions, located at 345 Marin Boulevard in Jersey City. The robust lineup Burns said underscores the organization’s commitment to amplifying LGBTQ voices, fostering inclusivity, and creating accessible spaces for all.
The events will range from drag and dance to film, comedy, a White Party and community conversations. Art House’s Pride programming offers something for everyone. “Each event is designed to uplift and celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Burns. “These events provide meaningful opportunities for connection, expression, and joy.”
Proceeds from select events will benefit Jersey City Pride, directly supporting their mission of visibility, advocacy, and celebration.

The Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy kicks off Jersey City Pride on Aug. 1 with a screening of I’m Your Venus at Art House, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. Then on Aug. 2, they present “Cult of Beauty: Celebrating the Extraordinary in the Ordinary”, current work by Jersey City artist Deb Sinha. The exhibition will be on display at the Art House Gallery from Saturday, Aug. 2 to Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025. The opening reception will be held Saturday, Aug. 2 from 6 -8 pm.
“I’ve admired Deb’s work since the first time I saw it years ago.” said Gallery Director Andrea McKenna. “His paintings are honest, emotionally rich, and full of gesture — rooted in an authenticity that draws you in instantly. His subjects are familiar yet layered with mystery: from intimate still lifes to striking portraits, to vivid scenes of Jersey City streets. Deb has a way of capturing life not as a grand narrative, but as a series of fleeting, meaningful moments. In viewing his work, we’re invited to reflect — not only on what we see, but on what we feel we may have once seen, lived, or dreamed.”
Sinha was surrounded by vibrant colors and creativity but lacked exposure to formal Western art. A transformative trip to Florence in his mid-30s inspired him to study classical art more seriously. Largely self-taught, Sinha has trained with several esteemed artists, including Juliette Aristides and M. Tobias Hall. “Just a week-long workshop felt like graduating with another magical master’s degree,” he reflects.
On Aug. 7 Art House Productions and Evan Laurence present The 8th Annual Fringe Fest Equality Rocks Spectacular. Come out to enjoy an amazing array of local talent and a variety show romp with a perfect mix of song, comedy, drag, and burlesque, with the finest talent from New Jersey and NYC.
JC Laughs: A Comedy Variety Show — LGBTQ Pride Edition will be presented on Thursday, Aug. 14 at 7:30 pm. The evening of comedy, with headliner Zach Zimmerman, is produced by the Jersey City Comedy Collective.
Then on Aug. 15 Art House Productions will hold a dance party and fundraiser from 6-10 p.m. paying homage to Miami’s iconic White Party, in celebration of 25 years of Jersey City Pride.
