This Is Us Too, So Let’s Talk at Rutgers-Camden Campus Center in Camden

Thursday, April 21, 2022 – 5:00PM to 8:30PM

Often overlooked, the LGBTQIA+ community frequently experiences higher incidences of domestic and sexual violence. Recent studies reveal that lesbian and gay individuals report a higher prevalence of abuse, including rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner compared to heterosexuals. People who are transgender experience disproportionate rates of violence and homicide, particularly transgender people of color.

They will begin by providing a boxed meal to all in-person attendees from 5:00 – 5:30 pm. Then, we are honored to begin the conversations with the following guest speakers.

1) Ashante Taylorcox, President and Founder of You Are More Than.

2) Dr. Jamie Washington, President and Founder of Washington Consulting Group , Campus Pride Board Member and Board Chair for Many Voices, a Black Church Movement for LGBTQIA + People.

3) Bianca Mayes , Director of Health Equity at Planned Parenthood.

Location: Rutgers Camden University – Executive Meeting Room, 326 Penn St, Camden, NJ 08102

NOTE: Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after final dose) OR a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of the event will be required for entry. Masks are required while in the Executive Leadership Room.
