Somerset County Meet & Greet At Duke Island Park In Bridgewater Township
August 12, 2021 – 6:00PM to 8:00PM
The Somerset County LGBTQ+ Advisory Board will be hosting a Meet and Greet at Duke Island Park on August 12, 2021 from 6 PM – 8 PM. This BYOE (Bring Your Own Everything) event will give members of our community the opportunity to make connections with each other, meet members of the County Government, Departments and Boards, and find out what services are available as well as provide feedback on areas where needs may not be met.
Entertainment to be provided by Miss Cissy Walken, a Somerset County native, drag queen, singer, comedian and “chef” who regularly performs throughout New York City. She was crowned Miss Stonewall Inn 2019 as part of the commemoration for the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. Cissy’s cabaret shows “The Simsinz” and “Amy Winehouse: Back to Life” played at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, earning her MAC & Glam Award nominations.
Spoken word poetry will be performed on the subject of community from an LGBTQ+ perspective. Submissions are being accepted at:
