Securing Our Future: Out Montclair Families Panel Discussion & Social Hour at The Episcopal Church Of St. James in Montclair
Wednesday, November 2, 2022 – 7:00PM to 9:00PM
In-person educational panel and wine and cheese social hour for queer parents to discuss ways to secure their family’s rights and get to know one another without the kiddos. Panelists include attorneys Kelly Brown and Melissa Brisman to explain estate planning/power of attorney, second parent adoption/reproductive family rights, and Garden State Equality project manager and LGBTQIA+ author Damien Lopez to discuss education-related rights for LGBTQIA+ parents and students.
Queer families are facing an uncertain legal future over their marriages, raising children together, and as LGBTQ-inclusive curricula and books come under attack. Out Montclair Families invites parents to meet and come together for a social hour with wine and cheese and a panel discussion with legal and advocacy experts on the issues who can provide information, resources, and support.
