LGBTQIA+ Teen Pride Support Group at Skylands Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Hackettstown
Wednesday, June 14, 2023 – 6:00PM to 7:00PM
Pre-teen to Teenage children who are questioning or identifying as LGBTQIA+ are welcome to come and build friendships as well as develop skills necessary to stand up for themselves and be confident in their identity.
What to expect:
Ice breakers
Games & Activities that builds a social-emotional skill
Education on relationship safety and LGBTQ issues
Lessons related to social justice issues, bullying, and self-advocacy
Community building
Support with queer and non-queer issues
Facilitator:
Lori (Lor) Sweetman, a non-binary lesbian, came out later in life and desires to help other queer and questioning humans feel safe to be themselves.
Mx. Lori Sweetman (They/She) relieved their masters in psychology specializing in gender and sexual fluidity and had ICF credentials as a life coach. These credentials give Lor the expertise and know how to guide humans through difficult times. Combine this with the life experience and you get a compassionate educator and coach to facilitate the support groups.
Suggested donation to go toward the insurance and room rental is $5.
