Full Spectrum & Foundational Reproductive Health Support at Bayard Rustin Center For Social Justice in Princeton

Every Thursday – 10:00AM to 1:00PM

The Birth Justice Program at the BRCSJ centers on educating, supporting, & empowering women of color, queer & transfolx, low-income women, differently abled women, & immigrant women to safely navigate pregnancy, birth & the postpartum process.

Pregnancy experiences & outcomes can be dramatically different for different people, especially for members of vulnerable communities. The disparities in maternal & infant outcomes are not the result of differences in genes or behaviors but are mostly explained by the differential historical, social, economic, & health environments experienced by Black & brown women. These economic & social differences matter for health; they are determinants of health, & as long as they exist, so will the disparities in maternal & infant health.

We acknowledge those inequalities & work to empower people in these communities to make autonomous healthy decisions for themselves & their babies to obtain safe, respectful, equitable medical care.
