Best Barbie Inspired Costume Contest at Porta in Jersey City
Saturday, October 21, 2023 – 10:30PM to 2:00AM
It’s going to be a crazy Barbie week, starting with their event Doll Play Made Me Gay on October 14th, featuring a Barbie-themed doll and art exhibit by Miguel Cardenas, part of the LGBTQ+ JCAST Art Tour curated by Cat Hecht, and culminating with their Best Barbie Inspired Costume Contest at Porta on October 21st. The costume contest is sponsored by JC Pride as part of the Ghost of Uncle Joe’s festivities.
They will be awarding a $150 grand prize to the person or group with the best Barbie-inspired costume. The costume contest will take place at midnight and will be part of the Ghost of Uncle Joe’s after-party at Porta.
The after-party is FREE for Ghost of Uncle Joe’s wristband holders from Friday or Saturday’s shows. For all others, a donation of $5 to $10, benefiting the Historic Jersey City and Harsimus Cemetery, is requested.
