I’m going to be as blunt and direct as possible, there is only one choice for the next governor of New Jersey, and that is Mikie Sherrill. Not only is she highly qualified and a staunch and consistent supporter of LGBTQ rights, but she also really cares about the Garden State and ALL those that live here. She wants to move us forward and make New Jersey a better place to live and thrive. In the latest October 2025 issue, on page 12 she shared her candid opinions about several LGBTQ concerns and how and why we need to join forces.
Chris Christie. Remember him? He was the guy who blocked gay marriage for eight years. He also blocked medical marijuana. But even he isn’t as bad as the GOP candidate this time around.
We will be “chit out of luck” if Jack Ciattarelli wins the election as governor. That MAGA-loving, Trump-supporting, anti-LGBTQ guy will make Christie look like a walk in the park. It’s that simple. You cannot sit this one out.
If you are a registered voter, you need to cast your vote for Sherrill. She cares about you, Ciattarelli cares about the “dear leader” and his agenda.
Ciattarelli voted against same sex-marriage, wants to line New Jersey courts with ultra conservative judges, just like the president has done with ultra-conservative justices in the Supreme Court. He is also backed by “Moms for Liberty,” who are a right-wing organization that want to ban books that address gender and sexuality and ALL books that make mention of LGBTQ rights. In other words, they hate us and want to erase us. I know I don’t want to be erased, removed from history, forgotten.
We have worked too hard to get our rights and we shouldn’t fool ourselves into thinking, “they wouldn’t do that. They can’t do that.” Trust me, with the Supreme Court as their majority, they will literally do whatever they can get away with.
The truth is, if Sherrill loses the gubernatorial election in New Jersey, we are not only to blame for not marching proudly to place our votes for her, but our rights could be doomed. I don’t mean that as hyperbole, I mean it literally. We will watch our rights and those of other minorities be whittled away, slowly but surely infesting “public opinion” with fake stats, hateful rhetoric and lies.
Do yourself a favor and learn about both candidates. We reached out to the Ciattarelli campaign multiple times. We received no response. Read what they think about you and the things that are important to you.
In New Jersey, registered Democrats outnumber Republicans, but we can’t let that set a mindset of “I don’t need to vote, there are plenty of Democrats that will vote for her.” That has only worked in favor of one party, and it’s not the one that cares about you. Get out and vote, we have a lot to lose.
