Prosecutor says officer feared for his life
LGBT groups and ACLU of New Jersey demand an investigation into possible profiling.
DeFarra “Dean” Gaymon, 48, was shot and killed by a sheriff’s officer in a popular men’s cruising area of Newark’s Branch Brook Park on July 16. Gaymon, a respected Atlanta businessman, CEO of the Credit Union of Atlanta and a married father of four. was in New Jersey for a high school reunion in Montclair. His reason for being in the park is unknown.
