Arms and the Man – theater review.
Director Joe Discher and The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey rejuvenate George Bernard Shaw’s witty gem Arms and the Man. Set amidst the heat of battle, a young Bulgarian woman named Raina Petkoff, played by Nisi Sturgis, unexpectedly finds a Swiss mercenary from the Serbian army in her bedroom. Capt. Bluntschli, played charmingly by Sean Mahan, threatens her and then begs her to hide him.
