BOOK REVIEW – Blue Boy a Triumph

The words blue and boy, even when not run together, conjure up a host of images in the prurient imagination of gay men, lesbians and some straight women alike.  The magazine is likely not on the radar of the average heterosexual male.  Rakesh Satyal’s novel Blue Boy is a breath of fresh air.  While capturing the cares of childhood that is frequently romanticized as carefree, Kiran, our protagonist sheds light on his youthful epiphany in his realization of self.
