Asbury Park will be the home to the third annual Bear Weekend with the help of three prominent members of the LGBT community; John Figueiredo,Sal Susino, co-founder of Dragonslair Productions and Ryan Jimenez, general manager of Hotel Tides.
Everything will take place over the course of 4 days and include bear-themed events and parties. Several events will be held at Hotel Tides – the host hotel for the event. There will be a meet and greet, and the “BearWatch” pool party with performances by Beardonna. Georgies Bar will host Bearlesque and a cigar party. Other events include: Bears on the Beach, Beareoke, a comedy show featuring Aaron Smallets and two dance parties at Club Paradise. Other events and updates can be seen at www.asburyparkbearweekend.com.
“It was inevitable that the Jersey Shore would be host to a bear event, considering they have become a staple in gay get-a-ways around the world,” said Ryan Jimenez at Hotel Tides. “And what better place than Asbury Park. Over the course of three years, this event continues to grow and compliment our small city by the sea.”
The cost is $75 per person. Those who register early will also receive a very special gift bag for the weekend (including a beach badge), and discounts at various businesses throughout town. Each establishment will feature specials by this year’s sponsors, Miller Lite and Ketel One.
Tickets can be purchased via the website and hotel reservations can be made at Hotel Tides by calling 732-897-7744.
