Argentina to Legalize Gay Marriage

Argentina may be the first country in Latin America to grant same sex couples the same legal rights and protections that marriage gives to heterosexual couples. On July 15, 2010 a new bill passed that also gives gay couples the right to adopt children. Argentine President, Cristina Fernandez, is said to be a strong supporter of gay marriage and is expected to sign the bill into law after her return from a visit to China.
