When Andy Skurna walked into a Gay Activist Alliance Meeting in Morris County (GAAMC) discussion group for the first time in 2007, he said, “You’ll either see me here for a couple of weeks, then never see me again, or I’ll be running the place in a year.”
Fortunately for GAAMC, Skurna kept coming back week after week and his prediction came true. By December of 2008, he was elected President of the Board of Directors.
Since GAAMC is an all-volunteer organization, Skurna wears a number of hats. He oversees the website, sends out weekly email blasts, organizes social events, lines up speakers, and assists in program development—all while running a computer networking business from his home.
