The Prevention Resource Network is embarking on a new project, a healthcare setting that caters to the needs of the LGBT community. They are looking for the input of the larger community in the Asbury Park area.
“The health of the LGBT community is important to us, and we know it’s important to you,” the Board has stated in a press release announcing the focus groups. The focus group meetings are started on August 9th and will run through the end of the month on August 30. Participants are asked to register online to join the groups.
At each of the focus groups they will be asking for information on participants experiences while accessing healthcare and the types of services each person would like to see offered. They will also be looking to tailor the hours of operation that would work best for the LGBT community as a whole — and individually.
The focus group will take place at Project REAL, 805 Fourth Ave, in Asbury Park and start promptly at 7:30 pm. “Lesbians and Bi women” group met on August 9. The next is on August 16 for the Transgender community.
Additional focus groups will be on:
- August 23 Gay and Bi men over 30
- August 30 LGBT Seniors
